Top Ten Colorado commercial office markets

Lovely-Colorado has an amazing array of office space and commercial real estate available to companies in need of commercial space. Despite the current recession, the #Colorado office market is still running strong with many options for perspective tenants to choose from. Given these circumstances, the time has never been better for tenants to get the best possible leasing deals on their next Colorado Office Space.

The commercial office market in Colorado can be broken down into ten major submarkets, they are as follows:

1. The #Denver Tech Center Office Space - Originally home to many cable and satellite technology companies, the Denver Tech Center now caters to businesses of all kinds in 122 multi-tenant and single-occupied office buildings totaling just less than 12 million square feet of office space.

2. Central Business District (Downtown Denver) - The CBD is the heart of Denver's business community and home to countless Headquarters and regional offices. In the Mid 70's, Denver saw a boom in commercial development due to the exploration of oil and gas in the west and is still home to many of the companies that helped develop it during that era. Denver has experienced quite a bit of expansion in recent years helping to diversify its commercial offerings to accommodate just about any space requirements an organization may have.

3. Colorado Springs Commercial Real Estate - Colorado Springs is the second largest metro area in Colorado with an estimated population of 400,000 residents, it is also home to the U.S Air Force Academy and a few military bases. The area is quite beautiful and offers just about any outdoor recreational opportunity one can imagine, making it a desirable location to any person or organization looking for commercial or industrial space in Colorado. If your company deals with government contracts or targets outdoor enthusiasts, Colorado Springs would be an ideal place to invest in your next Colorado Office Space.

4. Aurora Office Space - Aurora is a suburb located on the south-east side of metro Denver, combined the two cities are considered the seventeenth or eighteenth largest city in the United States. Aurora is also the second largest city in the metro area, so it is easy to understand why they have an extensive inventory of commercial properties available.

5. Boulder Commercial Space - Boulder, Co has always been considered its own market, often referred to by locals as "The People's Republic of Boulder". This market is resilient and is known for its highly educated work force. The city also prides itself as a progressive, environmentally conscious community, which makes investing in Green and Alternative Technologies highly desirable to any organization thinking about making Boulder their next headquarters.

6. Broomfield/Interlocken Office Space - Broomfield has experienced quite a bit of expansion in the last two decades boasting millions of square feet of commercial space including retail and industrial space. Situated half-way between Denver and Boulder and nestled just along the Flatirons of the Colorado Front Range, Broomfield offers an endless assortment of professional and personal amenities to any perspective business owner.

7. Inverness Commercial Real Estate - Located just south-east of Denver, this submarket is utilized by many companies looking for the work/live environment with many residential and retail offerings available. Access to public transportation is another strong attribute that makes this market very attractive to businesses considering relocating to Colorado.

8. Denver West Office Space - This submarket can be a little confusing to people that are not from Denver, due to the convergence of three different Colorado Cities called Denver West. Portions of Golden, Lakewood, and Denver meet just east of the foothills and provide an excellent venue for any organization requiring immediate access to the mountains. Applewood Technology Center is home to many progressive Tech Firms which reside in this Colorado submarket.

9. Lakewood Office Market - Located just west of Denver, Lakewood is one of the larger cities in the metro area. With convenient access to many of Colorado's major highway arteries, transportation in and out of this market is very easy and highly desirable to all that lease space in this city. Parts of this market are also considered the Denver West Market so when you are looking for office space be sure to learn the difference between the two.

10. Northern Colorado Commercial Real Estate - The northern portion of Colorado is less populated then the central area; however there are two cities in Northern Colorado with commercial offerings to consider. Fort Collins and Greeley are the largest cities in Northern Colorado and are able to provide just about any commercial real estate necessity you may have. The area is home to two of the larger Universities in the state, Colorado State University and University of Northern #Colorado, providing an ample amount of educated workers to choose from.

Colorado fly fishing is at its finest from Meeker and the White River to the grand Colorado River running through central Colorado from the high mountains. Fly fisherman will delight in the trophies they find fishing this region's rivers. Most notably, the Green river, Blue river, Roaring Fork River, and the Crystal River provide anglers with the fly fishing adventure they are looking for.

Colorado fly fishing is found on the lakes and reservoirs of the region too. Catch and release fishing is popular and if you don't plan to eat the fish you've caught, please help conserve Colorado's precious fly fishing resource by returning the fish to the water.

What to fly fish for in Colorado:

The natural beauty of the Colorado fly fishing spots is distracting even to the most seasoned angler. But distractions notwithstanding, and the proper fly fishing equipment, fly fishing anglers and enthusiasts are more than able to hook trout species like browns, bookies, and the rainbow trout in the rivers and streams that fly fisherman prefer. Fly fisherman may also stumble upon grayling and cutthroats too.

The other species that can be found here in Colorado's fly fishing lakes and reservoirs are Walleye, Wipers, Yellow Perch, Crappie Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Tiger Muskies, Bluegill, and Pumpkinseed. Colorado fly fishing provides any angler with an experience of a lifetime.

Various lures and worms work best during the spring runoff when the waters are high and streams running fast. Flies usually work best during late July, August and September. Watch for what's hatching in the area where you're fly fishing. This is the indication of which fly fishing flies will work best. Mayflies, caddis flies, midges, and stone flies predominate in this fly fishing area.

Colorado fly fishing is world class and you will find some of the best fly fishing in North America. There is no excuse not to pick up your fly fishing rod and tackle and set out on a leisurely Colorado fly fishing vacation of a lifetime.

Rocky Mountains, by name the Rockies, mountain range forming the cordilleran backbone of the great upland system that dominates the western North American continent. Generally, the ranges included in the Rockies stretch from northern Alberta and British Columbia southward to New Mexico, a distance of some 3,000 miles (4,800 km). In places the system is 300 or more miles wide. Limits are mostly arbitrary, especially in the far northwest, where mountain systems such as the Brooks Range of Alaska are sometimes included. The Rockies are bordered on the east by the Great Plains and on the west by the Interior Plateau and Coast Mountains of Canada and the Columbia Plateau and Basin and Range Province of the United States.

Hikes are fine, but a better way to exercise and enjoy the mountain scenery of Colorado Springs is to play golf. In a city dubbed the "Newport of the Rockies" there are scenic golf courses at all prices. While rates at Broadmoor Golf Club, the top public course in Colorado, top out north of $200, at nearby Cheyenne Shadows, on the grounds of Fort Carson, a prime-time round can be had for a small fraction of that. There are a wide range of challenges in Colorado Springs, as well. The long and short of it: Antler Creek Golf Course is the second-longest track in the nation at 8,058 yards. By contrast, the Lee Trevino-designed Appletree Golf Club measures 6,407 yards. Sightseers can take Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak, or they can view the majestic mountain from below as they play the Golf Club at Bear Dance or the jaw-dropping 27 holes as Kissing Camels Golf Course, open to customers of the Garden of the Gods Lodge. Other publics in the area are Pine Creek Golf Course, Gleneagle Golf Club and Monument Hill Country Club. Solid courses in Colorado Springs include the 27 holes at Patty Jewett Golf Course and Cherokee Ridge Golf Club.

The Full Wolf Moon Rising over the Dillon Pinnacles Blue Mesa Lake, Colorado
The Full Wolf Moon Rising over the Dillon Pinnacles Blue Mesa Lake, Colorado

At 800 square miles, northwest Colorado’s Grand Mesa is one of the largest flat-top mountains in the world, and its landscape sets it apart from much of the rest of Colorado — that so many lakes can be found so close together is a bit of an anomaly in this high-altitude state.

      Blue Mesa Lake, Colorado

      • Within the Grand Mesa National Forest are 300 lakes and reservoirs, a network of shorelines and waterside retreats that keeps fishers, boaters, hikers and campers satisfied. The Grand Mesa is particularly popular with anglers seeking fish tales among the area’s seven trout species.
      • The mesa’s 10,000-foot altitude means cooler temps in the summer. Because it’s below timberline, there’s plenty of trees and green vistas around its lakes. Many of the 300 lakes can be reached by RVs and four-wheel-drive, but some can only be accessed by a quiet hike or horseback ride.
      • Tour the mesa along the Grand Mesa Scenic and Historic Byway. The full drive takes about an hour, but the byway’s spur off CO 65 to Land’s End is worth taking on an extra half an hour. Perched at the edge of the mesa, the view into the Grand Valley can’t be beat.
      • Within the mesa’s borders is a choose-your-own-comfort-level span of amenities — from luxurious lodges to backcountry campsites with no amenities at all — perfect for every sort of outdoors person.
      • Towns around the mesa, like Grand Junction, Delta, Paonia, Cedaredge and Hotchkiss, are good places to emerge for food and services.
      • A FEW GRAND MESA LAKES TO CONSIDER:
      • The Mesa Lakes area is one of the more popular locales. With eight heavily stocked reservoirs and plenty of drive-up space and campgrounds, it’s a great spot for a quick weekend trip. Jumbo Reservoir offers campgrounds, restrooms, picnic tables and a small store.
      • Dig a little deeper into the Grand Mesa to Bull Creek Basin’s backcountry setting. The only way to get to these lakes is via four-wheel-drive, ATV, horseback or foot. The upper portions of Bull Creek offer easy fishing and good pools.
      • The Granby Reservoir area is heaven for four-wheelers, with plenty of obstacles and narrow corridors to keep the journey interesting. Its natural Clear Lake is renowned for its easiness at spotting cutthroat trout.
      • Folks with large campers and RVs often make their way to Ward, Alexander, Hotel Twin and Baron lakes, where there are plenty of large campgrounds, cabins, tackle shops and boat-launching areas.
      • The Trickle Park area has a mix of developed and undeveloped campsites with car and four-wheel-drive access. For a bit of solitude, seek out the Military Park and Stell reservoirs, which don’t see as many fishers as the other lakes in the area.

The Little Colorado River is a tributary of the Colorado River in the U.S. state of Arizona, providing the principal drainage from the Painted Desert region. Together with its major tributary, the Puerco River, it drains an area of about 26,500 square miles (69,000 km2) in eastern Arizona and western New Mexico. Although it stretches almost 340 miles (550 km), only the headwaters and the lowermost reaches flow year-round. Between St. Johns and Cameron, most of the river is a wide, braided wash, only containing water after heavy snowmelt or flash flooding.
